Bodyboard South Africa
When booking with with Bodyboard South Africa, a contract is made when your booking is confirmed via email or in writing.
With all of our different packages the full amount is required upon booking. If you are signing the booking for yourself as well as others you need to ensure the rest of the riders have read and understand the below terms and conditions.
Bodyboard South Africa wavers all responsibility for any delays, cancellations or other problems with flights inbound to South Africa. Bodyboard South Africa does not provide domestic flights to Cape Town international airport. We however will do everything we can to ease your journey and assist where possible on the ground here in Cape Town South Africa.
All cancellations must be sent in writing and will be effective from the date received. Cancellation charges are as follows for the following packages:
PRIVATE LESSON PACKAGES:
The full amount is to be paid upon booking. To be completed within 3 months of purchase date. The 2 & 3 Person Private Packages MUST be completed with the original participants together. No splitting of the 2 & 3 Person Private packages into individual sessions. Bodyboard South Africa will ensure that Private lessons are booked well in advance to ensure full participation of all riders- if an individual misses the booked lesson for whatever reason, he or she will forfeit the lesson. Please provide 24-hour notice in writing in case of a cancellation or the lesson will be counted. On commencement of lesson, no refunds will be given.
GROUP LESSON PACKAGES:
The full amount is to be paid upon booking. To be completed within 3 months of purchase date. If a participant cannot attend the lesson for whatever reason, he or she will forfeit that lesson. No splitting of Group lessons into individual lessons. Bodyboard South Africa will ensure that Group sessions are booked well in advance and that all participants are able to attend- if an individual misses the booked lesson for whatever reason, he or she will forfeit the lesson. Please provide 24-hour notice in writing in case of a cancellation or the lesson will be counted. On commencement of lesson, no refunds will be given.
GUIDED ONE-DAY BOOGIE PACKAGE:
The full amount is to be paid upon booking. Please provide 24-hour notice in writing in case of a cancellation or the guided session will be counted. If cancelled less than 24 hours prior to guided session, no refund will be given. On commencement of session, no refunds will be given.

Refunds will be in ZAR and refunded on date of receiving cancellation in writing (Subject to exchange rate on that day). Bodyboard South Africa holds no responsibility for the fluctuating exchange rates and the subsequent effects it might have on refund amounts on the clients’ relevant currency.
When travelling to South Africa as with any other overseas trip, insurance is required. Please ensure your insurance covers surfing and bodyboarding and other outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, running, swimming. Failure on having insurance will break the contract made with the company. In the event of an accident or incident the client will claim from their own individual travel insurance and not Bodyboard South Africa “the company.
NOT INCLUDED IN OUR PACKAGES:
Cost of clients passports, visas, travel insurance, flights, excess baggage, laundry, drinks, airport taxes, meals (except where indicated), airport transfer, car hire.
As you would know we cannot control the surf conditions or weather patterns. What we can do is select the best spots on each particular day according to the swell forecast. Thankfully Cape Town, South Africa has a plethora of consistent surf spots that cater for beginner through to advanced level riders so it’s to be expected that there will be waves. In the case of there being zero or bad waves Bodyboard South Africa will not be held responsible and will not permit a refund in the event of this occurrence. We do however have other activities to take part in at an additional cost – please enquire for more details.
South Africa with all her beauty also presents possible ocean and land based dangers such as sharks, snakes and other wildlife. Bodyboard South Africa will not be held responsible for any incident or accident in this regard – that being said, your safety is of paramount importance to us and your safety is our top priority. When booking the client must assume these dangers and risks.
OUR RESPONSIBILITY & LIABILITY:
Bodyboard South Africa nor its members or owners accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury that either the client or affiliated property or persons may incur during any of Bodyboard South Africa’s activities.
Bodyboard South Africa assumes the client waives the right to any claim to compensation from the company or its member and owners, in respect to the loss, damage or injury howsoever arising and whether as a result of negligence or otherwise incurred.
The client, and the client alone, owns their data and nothing will be shared with any third parties but the data may be used for internal analysis purposes.
If you choose to book a bodyboard holiday or request a quote or other information we may keep your details on file to send you updated monthly news & other special offers. We do not sell our customer details to anyone. If you would not like us to have your details on file please email email@example.com and request so with your name, address and email and we will happily do so.
We know people can abuse clients’ information but we respect your privacy and have your back. Also, don’t forget that you own your information so feel free to ask us to delete your data whenever you feel like it.
If you have any special dietary or other requirements do not hesitate to ask. Please ensure this is well in advance before the commencement date of your booked bodyboarding activity.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Bodyboarding is a strenuous sport that requires a certain basic level of fitness. You need to be a competent swimmer in order to take part in bodyboarding activities. If you are unsure of your fitness levels and whether or not you can cope in the ocean please ensure you go through a basic health check with your local GP and ensure you are cleared for physical activity.
These terms & conditions are dated 4/05/2020 but are subject to change at our discretion.
